Ministry of Education Rolls Out $20 Million School Support Grant Payments for 2025 Academic Year

Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – July 16th, 2025 – As the 2025 academic year rapidly approaches, the Ministry of Education has commenced processing payments for its substantial $20 million School Supplies and Book Grant. This vital initiative is set to provide $1,000 to 20,000 eligible students enrolled in government and government-assisted primary and secondary schools across the nation.The grant prioritizes crucial support for vulnerable families, including those receiving public assistance, unemployed individuals, and families with members who have disabilities.

Successful applicants will be directly notified via email.Education Minister Dr. Michael Dowlath highlighted the program’s essential role in easing financial burdens on families as they prepare for the new school year. This initiative reinforces the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring equitable educational access for all students in Trinidad and Tobago.

The ministry has also extended its gratitude to all applicants for their patience as the distribution process continues. Tobago Updates has reached out to officials at the Division of Education in Tobago to ascertain whether Tobagonian students are among the 20,000 beneficiaries, confirmation is pending at the time of this news.
