Mical Teja’s “dna” Wins The Road March Competition 2024 While Bunji Garlin’s “carnival Contract” Placed 2nd.
Mical Williams, better known as Mical Teja, is the 2024 Road March Champion.
His popular tune, DNA, which debuted last October, played 341 times. Bunji Garlin’s “Carnival Contract”, another favourite for the season, crept up but failed to take the top spot. His song was played 225, earning him 2nd place. And Anxiety by Patrice Roberts placed 3rd after being played 48 times. Teja also has the 2024 Young Kings Calypso Monarch title under his belt but had to settle for 4th place in the National Calypso Monarch competition. During the official announcement of the results today, the President of the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation (TUCO), Ainsley King, spoke about the importance of soca and calypso music and improving the products.
