“Marked Road Safe” Campaign Highlights Pedestrian Safety Ahead of New School Term

Septemeber 3, 2025- As the new school term approaches this Monday, the “Marked Road Safe” public service campaign is reminding drivers and pedestrians of the critical importance of road safety, especially in school zones. Drivers are being urged to strictly observe the 30 km/h speed limit and exercise heightened caution to safeguard young pedestrians.

Motor Vehicle Supervisor I, Huan Castellano, emphasized proper crosswalk etiquette for both drivers and pedestrians. He warned against the common but dangerous practice of parking vehicles immediately before and after crosswalks, which creates blind spots that can obstruct visibility and increase the risk of accidents.

Castellano also offered detailed advice on the correct use of crosswalks to help improve safety for all road users.
