Scarborough, Tobago – October 22, 2024 – The deyas lit around the stage were sure enough to let passers-by know that Diwali celebrations had begun. Despite Tobago’s small Hindu population, Diwali celebrations happen annually. On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, the Tobago Hindu Society held its Diwali celebrations at the Lowlands Mall. This was done to engage members of the wider public in the celebration of light over darkness, regardless of their different religious beliefs, highlighting the inclusive spirit of the festival in Tobago.
