Tobago’s Jahiem “Verrse” Thomas has advanced to the finals of the Soca Champion Competition after the organisers nullified the wild card voting process. According to an official statement from the Ultimate Soca Champion, concerns regarding irregular voting activities—including potential vote buying and artificial vote inflation—led to a review of the wild card process. As a result, the organisers chose to proceed with the highest-scoring reserve contestant from each category. At stake is a grand prize of $200,000 for the winner of the Youth Category. “Verrse” is set to perform in second position.
