March 19, 2025 – The Innovative Democratic Alliance (IDA) is also preparing to contest both the Tobago East and West seats in the upcoming general elections. Following Tuesday’s announcement that the general elections are set for April 28th, IDA’s political leader, Dr. Denise Tsoiafatt-Angus, stated that the public will be informed of their candidates on Tuesday, March 25th. She also noted the interesting timing of the election announcement, coming within 48 hours of Dr. Keith Rowley’s resignation and Prime Minister, Stuart Young’s swearing-in, and the appointment of a new Cabinet. Dr. Tsoiafatt-Angus stated that only time will tell whether the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago will allow the PNM to govern for a third consecutive term.
