Scarborough, Tobago – Students enrolled in the vacation camp with Roxborough Library Services journeyed to Scarborough today to gain a practical understanding of recycling and its processes.
In keeping with the theme of this year’s camp, “Save Our Planet,” the students visited the Tobago Recycling and Resources Initiative (TRRI) at the NIPDEC compound in Shaw Park. There, they learned firsthand how recyclables are processed. Managing Director Shawn Roberts taught the students how to sort plastic bottles and load them into the crushing machines. The students even had the opportunity to operate the machines themselves, gaining valuable hands-on experience with recycling and waste management.
