Government Laptops to Be Distributed to Students in Time for the New September School Term

May 16, 2025 – Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced the approval for laptop distribution in September 2025. During the announcement, the Minister of Education, Dr. Michael Dowlath, stated that the laptops will include an AI component designed to enhance the learning experience. The procurement is intended for incoming students and is expected to be completed in time for the start of the new school term in September. The Minister of Education said they are procuring 18,000 laptops and accessories for the students.
