une 6, 2024 – Healthcare in Trinidad and Tobago is becoming excessively expensive, according to Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert. He made these comments at yesterday’s (June 5, 2024) Standing Finance Committee on Supplemental Appropriations for the national budget.
The government is seeking to supplement the Ministry of Health by $500 million. This allocation is specifically budgeted to settle outstanding arrears within the Ministry. His statements highlight the significant financial pressures on Trinidad and Tobago’s healthcare system and the challenges of funding essential public services.
