Firearms and narcotics seized

Firearms and narcotics seized by police during exercises.

Seven Suspects have been arrested in the last 24 hours by the precision policing operations in Tobago. The exercise led to the seizure of a firearm, ammunition and narcotics. The first operation took place on Wednesday 2nd October, 2024 between 3pm and 8 pm in the Plymouth Road District, Whilst conducting the exercise, officers ventured into Spring Garden Trace where they observed a group of men standing. Upon realising that the police were present the men fled. One of the suspects was armed with a gun which was pointed to the officers. In keeping with the Force Policy, officers fired shots in the direction of the suspect. He then surrendered. A 20 year old man was arrested and one Beretta pistol loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition was seized. Additionally, officers of the Tobago Divisional Task force seized a quantity of cannabis and cash, in the Roxborough district, between 4:15 and 6:45 pm yesterday from a business after it was searched. Arrested was a man and his common wife after the findings of the search. In the Scarborough District, where four suspects were arrested for different offences including assault and outstanding warrants.
