Firearm and narcotics seized by TTPS in Scarborough anti-crime operation
Scarborough, Tobago – August 26, 2024 – An anti-crime operation in Scarborough, Tobago, has led to the seizure of a firearm and narcotics. Between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday (August 25, 2024), officers on mobile patrol acted on information about a firearm hidden near the old N.I.B. Mall on Gardenside Street.
An extensive search uncovered a black leather side bag containing an unmarked firearm, a magazine, 28.68 grams of cocaine, a razor blade, a digital scale, a lighter, a knife, and a blue vendetta. This successful recovery of the firearm marks the 15th weapon seized so far in Tobago for the year. The operation was directed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Hazel, coordinated by Senior Superintendent Rodhill Kirk, and led by Acting ASP Sunil Bharat. The investigation, supervised by PC Defreitas, is ongoing.
