Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – The Ministry of Education today issued a release noting that the Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses (GATE) will now cover full tuition costs for students pursuing Medical Studies (MBBS). This comprehensive coverage applies to students enrolled at the University of the West Indies (UWI) campuses in Mona, Jamaica, and Cavehill, Barbados.
This significant change will take effect from August 2024. The initiative aims to provide students with enhanced opportunities to reach their full potential in the medical field and contribute to national workforce development, particularly in the healthcare sector.
