Minister Ayanna Webster-Roy stresses need for education to ensure elderly are protected.
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs, Ayanna Webster-Roy, stressed that informed citizens, rather than laws alone, are what is truly needed for creating a safe and dignified environment for ageing populations.
Speaking at the 5th Town Hall Meeting on Ageing Gracefully and Equally on Monday, July 22nd , she addressed the widespread impact of ageism on both men and women. Minister Webster-Roy encouraged the public to stay educated on ageing issues and to familiarize themselves with all available support mechanisms designed to protect and empower the elderly in Trinidad and Tobago.
