Scarborough, Tobago – August 28, 2024 – E-IDCOT’s refusal to honour a Freedom of Information (FOI) request is a “slap in the face to Tobagonians,” according to Minority Leader Kelvon Morris. Speaking at a press conference today, Morris shared that a private citizen had requested information from E-IDCOT through an FOI application but was denied. The company’s refusal was based on the grounds that it is a private company and therefore not subject to the law. Morris’s comments highlight a significant concern regarding transparency and accountability within the public sector and its associated entities in Tobago.
