PDP leader Watson Duke says Tobago is becoming a police state.

Scarborough, Tobago – The political leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP), Watson Duke, claims the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) administration is creating a police state on the island. Appearing on the Good Morning Tobago show today, Duke discussed crime in Tobago, specifically referencing the deployment of 15 additional police officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and the Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) to help fight crime.

Duke’s comments highlight a contentious perspective on the government’s approach to tackling the island’s crime rate, sparking debate on the balance between security measures and civil liberties in Tobago.
