Dengue Kits for the Caribbean: USAID Donates $20,000 in Arbovirus Kits to CARPHA

USAID donates dengue kits to CARPHA

August 9, 2024 – The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has received a valuable donation of dengue and other arbovirus kits from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The U.S. Government, via USAID, donated kits valued at US$20,000. These kits, which test for dengue, chikungunya, and zika, will aid CARPHA in responding to the increase of dengue cases in the region.

U.S. Ambassador Candace Bond noted that the donation of these kits will aid in protecting the health and safety of people across the Caribbean. This initiative highlights the ongoing efforts to bolster public health and disease prevention in the region, particularly as cases of mosquito-borne illnesses rise.
