CRIME AND AUTONOMY

CIVILNET Chairman Rodney Piggott argued that there is an excessive focus on Assemblyman Watson Duke’s call for reconciliation with Chief Secretary Farley Augustine. He explained that the details of their dispute are not widely known to the public, and he believes they should resolve their differences privately.

Piggott further stated that political matters should not take precedence when there are pressing issues such as the sea bridge, air bridge, infrastructure problems, and low productivity at hand. He also offered his perspective on the crime situation in Tobago, suggesting that it is connected to low productivity, as crime is more likely to thrive in such conditions. The CIVILNET Chairman expressed his belief that autonomy would be an advantage for Tobago and could foster greater productivity.

Autonomy remains a significant topic in the Tobago community, and it continues to be eagerly anticipated by many.
