AG Reginald Armour SC announces removal of $25,000 pension grant eligibility clause.

Attorney General Reginald Armour has announced his decision to withdraw the Miscellaneous Provisions (Senior Citizens’ Pension and Public Assistance) Bill, 2024.  The bill, which sparked controversy, proposed disqualifying individuals with bank savings exceeding $25,000 from receiving the old age pension.  During a media conference on Wednesday afternoon, AG Armour clarified that the inclusion of savings as a condition was never intended to be part of the legislation.
