A crucial online meeting this Sunday aims to inform Tobagonians and concerned citizens about the proposed Rocky Point Development, a large-scale hotel and residential project at Mount Irvine. Save Our Seaturtles Tobago is spearheading the virtual gathering on Sunday, July 6th, in preparation for a critical second public consultation on the project’s Environmental Impact Assessment scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th, at 5:30 PM at Merci Buccoo. This ongoing dialogue is crucial as stakeholders, including residents, are concerned with the threat that the project poses to Back Bay, a vital nesting beach for critically endangered leatherback and hawksbill sea turtles. The upcoming online session, supported by the EnviroRightsTT project, implemented by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute in partnership with Environment Tobago and funded by the European Union, will empower participants with practical tips for effective engagement.
