“Chris Must List” to defend himself in court for a sedition charge after firing attorneys over US $50,000 fee.

Canadian YouTuber Christopher Hughes will now represent himself in court on a sedition charge after firing his attorneys over a $50,000 invoice. In an Instagram post, Hughes explained that as a new YouTuber, he couldn’t afford the legal fees. Hughes, who has had four attorneys since his charge in May, criticised the costs as “extortionate.” He stated that continuing with senior counsel could lead to fees exceeding $500,000, which he cannot afford. Hughes is currently on $100,000 bail and faces a $3,000 fine or two years imprisonment if convicted. He will reappear in court on Friday, where he will defend himself.
