Chief Secretary Meets Legal Affairs Minister to Tackle Land and Registrar Issues
August 22, 2025 – Chief Secretary Farley Augustine met with Minister of Legal Affairs, Saddam Hosein, as part of ongoing efforts by the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) to strengthen collaboration with the Central Government.
During the meeting, which included senior officials from both sides, the two leaders focused on three key areas: resolving Tobago’s longstanding land title issues, enhancing services at the Registrar General’s Office, and urgently addressing the vacant Assistant Deputy Registrar General position.
The talks come one day after a separate high-level meeting between the Chief Secretary, Public Utilities Minister Clyde Elder, and the Water and Sewerage Authority, where infrastructure upgrades and plans for a Charlotteville desalination plant were discussed.
THA officials say both meetings signal a continued commitment to improving public services and addressing critical administrative and infrastructure challenges across the island.
