CAL Suspends Caracas Flights in September Amid Regional Tensions

Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has announced the suspension of its flights BW 300 and BW 301 to and from Caracas on September 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2025. The decision comes in the wake of escalating regional tensions following a recent U.S. marine strike off the coast of Venezuela, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of 11 suspected members of the Tren de Aragua cartel.

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar publicly supported the U.S. action, describing it as a necessary and forceful response to transnational drug trafficking.

Affected passengers will be contacted directly by CAL and provided with the following options:

  • Complimentary rebooking in the same cabin on future CAL flights
  • Full refunds via the reservations call centre, ticket offices, or authorized travel agents
  • Re-accommodation on alternative airlines, subject to seat availability

CAL is urging all travellers with Caracas-bound itineraries to stay informed by checking updates on its official website and social media platforms.
