The island of Tobago celebrates its 2025 Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition national finalists. Esteemed groups, including the renowned Tobago Drama Guild and the vibrant Roxborough Gems Folk Performing Company, are among the many finalists who will represent the island’s rich heritage.This prestigious competition, a cornerstone of Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural landscape since 1963, aims to preserve and showcase the country’s indigenous folk arts. This year’s theme is “Safeguarding the Legacy,” with events running from August to September.Tobago’s contenders will compete in a variety of categories, including Folk and Calypso Medleys, Spirited Folk Dance, and the coveted La Reine Rive Self-Expression and Talent competition. All eyes will be on these talented groups as they bring the unique spirit and traditions of Tobago to the national stage, vying for the competition’s top honours.
