Mt. St. George, Tobago – February 9th, 2024 – An incident occurred on Thursday evening [February 8th, 2024] around the bay in Mt. St. George, where the rope pulling a barge towards the Barbados Bay Jetty by a tug boat snapped. This caused the vessel to be tossed by waves and ultimately become stuck on a rock.
The incident took place as the vessels were en route to Barbados Bay. The barge was carrying a cargo of sand and other building materials, destined for Warner’s Concrete Batching Plant in Studley Park.
