Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – During a recent session, Commissioner of Police Erla Harewood-Christopher was questioned by Joint Select Committee (JSC) member Dr. Roodal Moonilal regarding the specifics of back pay owed to police officers.
The arrears, a significant financial matter for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) personnel, were originally promised to be paid to police in December 2023. Dr. Moonilal’s inquiry sought clarity on the delay and the current status of these long-awaited payments.
This questioning highlights ongoing concerns about financial commitments to the nation’s law enforcement officers and the transparency surrounding such disbursements.
