ABAS 10-year action plan

Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda – At the conclusion of the 4th International Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Conference, sixty-five member states, including Trinidad and Tobago, are expected to officially adopt the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS). This comprehensive plan outlines actionable goals to be achieved over the next ten years, as SIDS nations collectively seek to chart a course towards resilient prosperity.
The ABAS represents a renewed global commitment to supporting Small Island Developing States in their unique development challenges, particularly those exacerbated by climate change and economic vulnerabilities. The plan aims to foster sustainable development and strengthen the resilience of these island nations.
A critical question remains: will this new plan succeed where three previous similar SIDS action plans failed to meet their objectives?
