UNC MP for San Juan, Saddam Hosein, expressed difficulty understanding the relevance of the current State of Emergency, noting that some regulations seem weaker than existing laws. Speaking at the UNC Pavement Report in Debe last night, Hosein highlighted that the penalties for arresting citizens with illegal firearms under these regulations are less severe than those outlined in the Firearms Act. Hosein stated that the irregluarity was brought up in Parliament on Monday during debate on the three month extension of the SOE but it was dismissed by Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Stuart Young. Hosein was then left questioning whether the SOE is effectively addressing crime. Hosein added that during the debate in Parliament, no one was able to provide concrete evidence to demonstrate that the SOE was successful.
