A Standard Five student at Golden Lane Primary School, suspected to be struggling with mental health challenges, has reportedly been posing a serious threat to the safety and well-being of both staff and students. A concerned parent, who requested anonymity, disclosed to Tobago Updates that the student has exhibited violent behavior in the past. According to the parent, the child has allegedly chased other students with a stick and beaten them, choked a teacher, and even engaged in a physical altercation with the school’s security guard. The student has also reportedly claimed to be affiliated with the “Six and Seven” gangs. Amid growing concerns, some teachers refused to attend school today, citing fears for their safety. The school’s principal had previously suspended the student for similar incidents and later sought to expel him. However, she was informed that expulsion was not an option. Now, both parents and teachers are pleading with the relevant authorities to urgently intervene and find an effective solution to the situation.
