Parliament has approved the appointment of Junior Benjamin as Acting Commissioner of Police and Curt Simon as Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police. This follows a recommendation from the Police Service Commission to the president after the arrest and subsequent release without charges of suspended top COP Erla Harewood-Christopher. While leading the motion in Parliament, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley distanced the government from the matter.
