Minister of Finance extends property tax deadline to December 20th.
Finance Minister Colm Imbert has set a new deadline for property tax payments: December 20th. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on November 2nd, he announced that the Board of Inland Revenue now has until November 29th to deliver property tax notices. Previously, the ministry advised residential property owners to ignore tax notices dated before March 6th due to amendments in the Property Tax Act, which reduced the tax rate from three percent to two percent. Payments were originally due by September 30th but were extended to November 29th. Imbert also announced that online payments will be available at Republic Bank starting November 8th, with First Citizens customers already able to pay through their online banking.
