Stuart Young apologizes

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Stuart Young has apologized for “controversial” comments made in parliament last Thursday, October 10th.

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and MP for Port-of-Spain North/St. Ann’s West, Stuart Young, has apologized for comments made in Parliament last Thursday, October 10th. The comments elicited much controversy and were condemned by many activist groups and people, including activist Wendell Eversley. Via a Facebook post, Young said that during the recently concluded budget debate, he made comments that were carried by a live microphone, went viral, and generated much attention. He said he has accepted that more is expected of him as a Representative and regrets his comments. At a press conference held in front of the Red House on October 15, activist Wendell Eversley demanded an apology from Energy Minister Stuart Young and Finance Minister Colm Imbert for the sexual innuendoes made in Parliament. Imbert has not yet issued a public apology.
