October 14, 2024 – Caribbean Airlines is celebrating another milestone with its inaugural flight BW294, which landed at the Terrance B. Lettsome Airport in the British Virgin Islands on October 14th. CEO of CAL, Garvin Medera, announced that this new route enhances connectivity across the Caribbean, marking the airline’s first service to Tortola and expanding its network to 24 destinations.
With four flights a week—on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday—over 540 seats will be available weekly. Upon arrival, passengers were welcomed with a traditional water salute and a cultural event hosted by The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission. According to a press release, the new Tortola route not only strengthens Caribbean Airlines’ position in regional aviation but also supports tourism and business travel, offering seamless connections via Barbados.
