Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – At the special sitting of the Industrial Court for the opening of the 2024/2025 law term, Her Honour Heather Seales highlighted a critical issue: crime is not just a national security concern but is also becoming an industrial one.
Seales stated that the court must consider how violent crime is impacting people’s ability to work within certain timeframes. Her comments underscored the need for the industrial relations system to adapt to the reality of crime, which can affect employees’ safety and their capacity to perform their duties.
