Emancipation Day is a significant event observed on the 1st of August each year. This day marks the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the Caribbean, a pivotal moment in the region’s history. Emancipation Day is a powerful reminder of enslaved Africans’ and their descendants’ resilience and contributions. Today, Cultural Officer 4 from the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiques and Transportation appeared on the morning show, where he shared the plans for the celebration in Tobago.
