T&TEC affected by global crowdstrike it outage

Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Yesterday, a global IT outage occurred, caused by a faulty update from Crowdstrike, a prominent global cybersecurity firm. This widespread disruption affected critical systems across various sectors, including airports, train stations, and banks around the world.

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) reported that they were indeed affected by this outage. Fortunately, the issue impacting T&TEC’s services was quickly resolved. T&TEC published a statement via its Facebook page informing customers that there was a brief disruption to its online payment platform due to the global IT outage, which specifically affected Microsoft’s Windows operating systems. The Commission assured customers that the issue has been resolved, and they can now resume their payments as normal.
