Description: A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Tobago. Higher potential for hurricane conditions with sustained winds over 118 km/h within the warning area. Hurricane Beryl, located near 10.9°N 55.6°W, 542km east-southeast of Tobago, moving westward at 33 km/h as of 2 pm today. Tobago to experience deteriorating conditions starting with showers and gusty winds over 65km/h from early evening. Sea conditions to worsen with large waves affecting all coastlines by late afternoon. 80% chance of hurricane force winds in Tobago by early morning Monday, July 1st as Beryl nears the southern Windwards.
The next update will be at 5 pm today (Sunday 30th June 2024) or earlier if necessary.
Instructions: Take immediate actions to protect their lives, livelihoods, and property.For safety during floods or wind damage, choose between sheltering in place or evacuating to a secure location. Secure food, water and medicine for at least 7 days in waterproof containers. Outdoor drains should be clear and loose objects secured by now. Sandbags should be near all entrances to your home.
