Preventing Mosquito-Borne Diseases: Ministry of Health Urges Caution Amidst Dengue Cases in T&T

Trinidad and Tobago – June 22, 2024 – For the year thus far, Trinidad and Tobago has recorded 126 lab-confirmed cases of Dengue fever and one death from the disease. As such, the Ministry of Health is actively sharing ways to protect oneself against dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases such as Zika and Chikungunya.

The Ministry advised the public to dispose of all unwanted containers from their yard that may collect water and become mosquito breeding grounds. This crucial preventative measure aims to reduce the mosquito population and curb the spread of these infectious diseases across Trinidad and Tobago, emphasizing public cooperation in maintaining a healthy environment.
