June 4, 2024 – All Heads of Government represented at the SIDS4 conference have successfully adopted the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS), a new 10-year action plan. This crucial plan maps the way forward for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including Trinidad and Tobago, in their global ambition of building more resilient economies and fostering prosperous and sustainable societies.
The adoption of the ABAS was the main purpose of the conference, held in Antigua and Barbuda, and it is being widely regarded as a significant success. This collective effort highlights a unified approach to addressing the unique vulnerabilities and developmental needs of SIDS and promoting sustainable development in the Caribbean.
