Minister of Defence Meets with Chief Secretary to Discuss Tobago’s Security

Scarborough, Tobago – 29/08/2025 – Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge met with Chief Secretary Farley Augustine in Tobago earlier today. A Facebook post from the Office of the Chief Secretary stated that the meeting focused on reinforcing Tobago’s security infrastructure, with particular attention given to the operational capacity of existing defense installations.

Minister Sturge reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for Tobago’s unique security needs. This visit is the latest in a series of engagements between national ministers and the Tobago House of Assembly since the formation of the current national government, reflecting a renewed spirit of cooperation and alignment on pressing governance issues.
