Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – A hundred young Tobagonians are getting a head start in the world of work through the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT’s) nationwide Future Leaders Internship Programme (FLIP).
The three-week initiative kicked off on Monday with simultaneous orientations in both islands, with Tobago’s taking place at the Shaw Park Complex. Targeting unemployed youth and those not in full-time tertiary education, FLIP offers hands-on experience in key areas of TSTT’s operations.
According to Vice-President of Networks and IT, Rattan Boodram, the response was overwhelming, with over 17,000 applicants. More than 4,600 met the criteria, and 600 were ultimately chosen, including 100 from Tobago. The program, which also features artificial intelligence (AI) training, will run until early September, preparing Tobago’s young talent for the fast-paced digital economy.
