THTA Convenes First Convention, Focuses on Diversifying Tobago’s Economy

July 24, 2025– The recently appointed board of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association (THTA) wasted no time in commencing its mandate, hosting its inaugural official convention earlier today, July 25, 2025, at the Magdalena Grand Golf and Beach Resort. The event signaled an immediate proactive approach by the new leadership to address the island’s economic landscape, with a particular focus on diversification.

The convention drew a notable attendance of key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. Among the prominent figures present were THTA President Reginald MacLean, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Investment, and Tourism, Secretary of Tourism Tashia Burris, and Chief Secretary Farley Augustine.
