Chris Richards Jr. Third-Time Winner at Tobago Golf Open Championships 2025

July 22, 2025Chris Richards Jr. continued his dominant run at the Tobago Golf Open Championships, capturing the Division title for a third consecutive year with an impressive total score of 221. The prestigious tournament was held from July 18–20 at the scenic Plantation Golf Course, Magdalena Beach and Golf Resort in Lowlands, Tobago.

Richards Jr, representing the Pointe-a-Pierre Golf Club, staged a remarkable comeback after starting in joint fourth place with a 76 in the opening round. Zico Correia led the pack early with 74, while Ross Ramkissoon and Jerseem Boodram trailed closely with scores of 75. The second day saw Richards Jr rebound strongly with a 73 to seize the lead at 149, as both Correia and Ramkissoon slipped with identical second-round scores of 81, falling to 155.

Despite challenging mid-afternoon rain that disrupted play for the Championship Flight golfers on the first two days, Richards Jr maintained his composure. He capped off the final day with a solid even-par 72 to seal the win, finishing eight strokes ahead of Correia, who ended on 229 after carding 73 on Sunday. Ramkissoon took third with a total of 231. Currently ranked 312th on the World Amateur Golf Association list, Richards Jr once again proved why he remains one of the country’s top amateur golfers.
