Government to Uncover Forex Cartel as Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar Promises Public Report

May 16, 2025 – Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says her Cabinet will soon lift the veil on what she has described as a “foreign exchange cartel” operating in Trinidad and Tobago. During Thursday’s post-Cabinet briefing at the Red House, the Prime Minister said a full report on (forex) distribution and leakages over the past decade is being prepared.
