Scarborough, Tobago – PDP’s Tobago West candidate, Curtis Douglas, says he was shocked by the level of poverty he’s encountering on the campaign trail. Speaking on the Tobago Updates show Fight for We, Douglas stated that he never imagined that so many people on the island were suffering.
According to Douglas, the situation is even more troubling given the extraction of hydrocarbons in waters close to Tobago. As a result, Douglas said he is now more determined to provide stronger representation for the people. He asserted that if elected, he would do everything possible to ensure Tobago benefits directly from the profits of nearby gas fields, in order to improve the lives of Tobagonians.
