May 23, 2025 – In December 2024, the nation awoke to devastating news that a tragic fire had claimed the lives of the D’Abadie/O’Meara MP Lisa Morris-Julian and two of her children. At a post-Cabinet media briefing on Thursday, Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander revealed the government’s plans to alleviate the manpower woes of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS). The government is set to integrate 280 Auxiliary Fire Officers into the TTFS.
