As Tobago Day celebrations continue, 28 Tobagonians will be awarded this evening at the Tobago Day Awards Ceremony, which is being held at the Shaw Park Complex.
The Tobago Day Awards is the most prestigious award ceremony in Tobago and honours individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to Tobago over the years.
Medals will be awarded in three categories: the Tobago Medal of Honour Gold for distinguished and Outstanding Service to Tobago, the Tobago Medal of Honour Silver for Long and meritorious service to Tobago and the Tobago Medal of Honour Bronze for loyal and devoted service beneficial to Tobago.
Additionally, one individual or group will receive the Chief Secretary’s award for outstanding contributions and significant achievements towards the development of Tobago. Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is expected to deliver the feature address at the ceremony which will be streamed live on Tobago Updates Facebook page.
This year’s Tobago Day is themed, “The Greatest Little Island on the Plant, 43 Years Strong”.
