May 21, 2025 – The Ministry of Finance has extended the Tax and National Insurance Amnesty from its original end date of December 31, 2024, to August 2, 2025. Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo announced that the amnesty covers penalties and interest on outstanding taxes and NIS contributions owed up to December 31, 2023. The measure applies to over 15 taxes, including income tax, VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax. Legal Notices Nos. 211 to 215 of 2025 were issued to formalise the extension. However, individuals who fail to settle their dues during this period will have all waived penalties and interest reinstated.
