WASA Extends Water Restrictions Until July 31st Due to Prolonged Dry Season in Trinidad and Tobago

W.A.S.A. extends water restrictions until July 31st due to prolonged dry season and low reservoir levels despite wet season start.

Trinidad and Tobago – June 28, 2024 – The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has extended water restrictions until July 31st, despite the official start of the 2024 wet season. This decision comes as Trinidad and Tobago faces a prolonged dry season with insufficient rainfall at its key reservoirs: Arena, Navet, Hollis, and Hillsborough.

WASA’s extension underscores the continued challenge of water scarcity across the nation. Despite recent rainfall, the levels at these vital impounding reservoirs have not adequately replenished, necessitating ongoing conservation measures to manage the available water supply for households across Trinidad and Tobago.
