As part of efforts to ensure school readiness across the island, the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) has delivered over 548 single-seater benches to primary schools in Tobago. The initiative, led by the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development, supports the broader School Readiness Programme under the Division of Education, Research and Technology.
The newly built benches have already been distributed and are ready for use as the academic year begins. In addition to improving school infrastructure, the project has created valuable employment opportunities for community members.
The initiative also underscores the strong collaboration between various THA divisions working together to enhance educational support across the island.
