With a General Election expected to happen this year, the United National Congress (UNC) is joining forces with smaller parties. Opposition Leader and UNC political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar announced at a press conference on Tuesday night that they will work with the Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP), Laventille Outreach for Vertical Enrichment (LOVE), and the Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM). They plan to contest all 39 seats in Trinidad but will not contest the two Tobago seats.
